How the Program Works
The program focus is on alcohol and substance abuse
intervention and prevention activities for youth. The core of
the program revolves around a structured series of 10 week
presentations focusing on substance abuse education, healthy
lifestyle choices, peer identification, and presentation on
American Indian history and culture to foster improved
self-esteem. The structured program provides information on
additional activities that are ongoing and open to all youth
throughout the year. Academic support services are available
upon request. For youth needing counseling services, treatment
plans are developed based on assessment and youth are enrolled
in adolescent substance abuse treatment, receive individual
therapy and participate in additional support groups.
